Mmake your own Temple Tour (there are 6small and 1 big- Onsen-ji Temple)All of them are in small mountains which are around. Its very nice walk trough the forest paths and you will have nice view over the Shibu Onsen area. To see all of them takes around 45minutes.

Make yor own Hot Bath Tour (there are 9 Public Bath on the street of Shibu Onsen. There is saying - to take all of them is good for your body and health)
All of them got different quality of hot spring, consist from minerals and have healing history. If you do not have time
to visit all of them, take the oldest biggest and strongest
nr. 9 OYU. Samurais used this bath long time ago
Hire a Geisha
let local english speaking Geisha entertain you during your
traditional japanese dinner.
She will play for you on "Shamisen", sing, dance Japanese "Odori" and play with you simple games. If you 'll loose you
have to drink, if you win Geisha must drink! I enjoyed a lot :)
Usually she cams for 2hours 19.480, but for foregners I
negotiate 1hour entertainment 9.240yen.

Tea ceremony
Have a look on tea ceremony or take a class.
there is special order how to prepare real green tea, and also
special way how to drink it. Each movement has a meaning.

Visit Big Budha staue in Yudanaka Onsen. Inside are 33 small Budhas from many Temples from Kyoto and other cities. People pray there 33times like in 33different Temples.

Local bakery
I recommend very soft creamy a bit sweet vanilla bred rolls,
but you can find here more fresh breds and sweets.
Soba noodles cooking experience (all year)
Soba noodels are backweed noodles typical for Nagano prefecture.
Japanese Archery - Kyudo (all year)
Wach archers practice Kyudo in sacred atmosphere or
take 3hours full lesson.
Local fruit picking (May-October)
After you pay entrace fee, you can pick up and eat
as much as you can.
Enjoy the unique evening Japanese SPA atmosphere, where most of the visitors are wearing Yukata
and Geta walking from bath to bath, foot bath souvenier shops, coffe shop,
taking pictures with historical buildings…
Zenkoji Temple (all year)
20min walk from Nagano station, National treasure and 3th biggest wooden Temple in Japan.
Bonsai Garden (all year)
Half day trip to Shinji Suzuki's Bonsai Garden.
Very nice designed Japanese garden and everywhere around are 200 amazingly shaped bonsais in many sizes (20-200cm high).
