If I stay in Yudanaka Onsen, I know I can travel to Shiga Kogen by bus, will this bus be covered by the ski ticket? Do you know how much and how long does it take to get to the ski fields?
There is public bus from Yudanaka station via Shibu Onsen, Kanbayashi to the Shiga Kogen. It takes cca 30min. and costs around 1000yen. This bus is Public and is not covered by your SKI Pass. Your 1day SKI pass is valid only for Suttle bus running between 71Ski lifts in Shiga Kogen mountains.

Will the ski resorts be opened in the begining of December? I'm afraid that it is still very early season, what do you think of our chances to see snow? Daphne
Yes it is very very early season. There are 21ski areas and they are in different see levels. Some of them (higher ones) start opening 22.Nov. All of lifts will be definitely open from 6.Dec.2008. If there is no snow in this time, they are ready to make snow by snow machines during nights.
Last year during this time there was snow in Shga Kogen. It is very difficult to say how it is gonna be this year. If there is no snow, they will make it by snow machines, but the natural one nobady can promiss.
