Snow Monkey MiniBus

This is the recommended and quickest way to get to Monkey park from Yudanaka or Shibu Onsen.
Bus operates from 23.Dec '09 to 22.March '10, between these tree stops:

Yudanaka station ~ Shibu Onsen ~ Jigokudani Parking Place

(not every day)

ADVANTAGE
First you need to know - there are 2ways how to get to Monkey park.
One si via Jigokudani Parking Place (much closer but closed in winter for public vehicle, taxi)
Second is via Kanbayashi bus stop (its further, but open all year for public)

- From Jigokudani Parking Place it takes only 10min on foot to get to Snow Monkey park.
- Only Snow Monkey MiniBus has got special permition to go this way. For taxi, buses and
public transport is this road closed from 1.December 2009 untill April 2010
- If SnowMonkey Bus does not operate the day you come, you have to get to Kanbayashi stop

by public Bus. From Kanbayashi it takes 25min on foot to get to the Park.
- Or walk via Jigokudani Parking Place (from Shibu Onsen 2.6km, 40min on foot)

Package price ( Snow Monkey Ticket + Return Bus Ticket)
from Yudanaka station ~ 1700yen
from Shibu Onsen ~ 1500yen

One way Bus Ticket
from or to Yudanaka station ~ 800yen
from or to Shibu Onsen (Parking Place)~ 700yen

MINIBUS is running following days:

December 23 , 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31
January       1, 2, 3, 4, 9 , 10, 11, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, 31
February    6 , 7, 11, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28
March          6 , 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 22

with red is BUS only for 9 passengers. Other days Bus for 18 passagners.

PLEASE NOTE

- You have to purchase ticket one day before. In other case there is no guarantee of
   available seat. There is no online sale, you have to buy in person or in the hotel.
- You have to purchase the ticket in Cash only at Ticket office in Yudanaka station, in Shibu
   Onsen parking place, or ask at reception of your hotel
- If you take last MiniBus 16:05 there is no return Minibus. You have to come back by Public
   bus or on foot

Hello. I plan to visit Shibu on April, 17. That time is spring season. How about monkey in onsen and Is bus not serve in april? Thank Wethit

Snow Monkey Minibus will finish in 22.March. After that you can go to Monkey park only by public bus (from stops Yudanaka, Shibu, or Shiga Kogen), by Taxi or walk.

Snow Monkey Minibus

Hi

I see on your website that you need to purchase tickets for the minibus a day before. But we are only planning on doing a day trip to the Snow Monkey park from Tokyo on the 11th February - going in the morning and returning in the afternoon/evening on the same day. Will our hotel (Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku) be able to book the ticket for us by phoning? Or is there another way to purchase the tickets?
